Tournament Format: Varsity – Double elimination bracket tournament JV Day 1 – Bracket tournament. JV Day 2 – Bracket tournament; Round Robin bracket for wrestlers eliminated on Day 1. Friday, January 16, 2026 11:10 AM - High school wrestlers excused from school (for 10th-12th graders, 11:10AM is when 3rd period ends; so you will only miss your 4th period class. We are taking all of our Varsity, JV, and extras to the Iron Town Duals. In the past it has been a badge of honor to earn an "Undefeated" t-shirt from two days of solid wrestling. Mouth guards?) 8:00 AM - Bus departs SCHS (DO NOT BE LATE) 11:30 AM Boys weigh-ins: (2 lb growth allowance with no additional allowance since no competitions were allowed on January 1: 108, 115, etc.) *Weigh-ins: To keep things running smoothly this year, we are going to utilize the auditorium in the front of the SVC for weigh-ins. We will have your team sign on a row of seats in the auditorium and ask that your team be seated there. Our referees and medical will call your team up on the stage when it's your turn to be weighed in. If any teams want to lend a scale, we'll gladly use it for weigh-ins to speed up the process. Teams from multiple neighboring states, along with Utah power-house programs make the trek to St. George to compete. It's a traditional double-elimination format and it's a BATTLE to make it to the medal podium. We anticipate you'll see some Green and Gold there when the dust settles.

Reminder: The JV tournament will be a double elimination bracket tournament. They will have a second round robin tournament on Saturday for all JV wrestlers that were eliminated on Friday. This should allow for a completion of the JV tournament and get those JV wrestlers matches that were eliminated on Friday. This should hopefully get those JV wrestlers 6 to 7 matches for the weekend. DECEMBER 12-13, 2025 @ Juab "Hive" Fieldhouse 802 N 650 E, Nephi UT *Note, we are taking all of our Boys Team to this tournament (Varsity, JV, and extras). The Warriors will hit the road again this weekend, this time for Juab. The Winter Classic in Nephi, Utah, has traditionally been another great tournament to sharpen our skills. We expect nothing less this year. We are taking all of our Boys Varsity to this tournament. The Juab "Hive" Fieldhouse has room for the varsity tournament AND JV tournament under the same roof! The Juab Winter Classic Varsity tournament format is a dual tournament. All wrestling will take place at the Juab Fieldhouse (802 North 650 East, Nephi, UT). JV wrestling will be at the same facility, the Hive. It will run at the same time as the varsity. We will stop the JV tournament on Friday when the Varsity starts to wrap up, and then pick it up on Saturday morning. It will be a round robin format on Friday with large pools to get maximum number of matches. On Saturday, we will bracket wrestlers per Friday results. Pools will be based on actual weight that coach entered when entering lineups. JV wrestler do not need to “make weight”, but they should be approximately the same as their entered weight. There will be continuous wrestling for 5 rounds with no breaks. 9:00 PM Hotel check-in. Wrestlers and coaches pick up keys/room cards for assigned rooms. If any wrestlers leave the hotel to get food at nearby locations, they must do so as teammates in groups of at least 2. Wrestlers are NOT allowed to get in a vehicle to travel at this time (not even with their parents). We estimate our return arrival time to Snow Canyon High School to be around 9PM. A few things to keep in mind: 1- Boys Varsity AND JV will all take place in the same facility, The Juab Fieldhouse (802 North 650 East, Nephi UT) 2- Buses will drop wrestlers off on the south side, roadside so that buses do not have to enter through the high school parking lot. 3-For parents and other spectators, the entrance is on the north side of the building, connected to the High School parking lot. 4- The facility has a lot of space, but not a lot of bleachers. There is a central turf area and the wrestlers are encouraged to bring “camp” chairs and blankets and set up on the tarps over the turf. 5- Parking is going to be a challenge. It's limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents should plan on parking on adjacent streets and walking a bit if the facility parking lot is full. Wrestling Tournament @ Syracuse High School December 5-6, 2025 Syracuse High School 2000 W 665 S. Syracuse, UT 84075 The pre-season and the wrestle-offs are over. We've established the varsity squad and it's time to put to trial what we think is possible. There's really no better place to do that than at the Syracuse Scuffle. We've been going to Syracuse for years because it's one of the toughest dual tournaments available and we're ready for tough. Teams: Bear River, Brighton, Cedar Valley, Copper Hills, Lone Peak, Northridge, Payson, Ridgeline, Snow Canyon, Syracuse, Stansbury, Tooele The varsity will wrestle 8-9 duals (4 duals on Friday, 4-5 duals on Saturday) against teams from all around the state. Periods will be 1:30, 1:30, 1:30. Varsity will have trophies for teams finishing 1st and 2nd. Medals for undefeated wrestlers (must have at least 8 matches). One MVP award for each team. Coach chooses the award for own team. One outstanding wrestler award. Undefeated with most pins in least amount of time. The JV and extras will be placed into pools of 5-6 based on actual weights. Periods will be 1:30, 1:30, 1:30, but may be adjusted as time allows. The lower half of the JV weights (under 145) will wrestle on Friday and the upper half (over 145) will wrestle on Saturday. JV and Extras will not have a team trophy. Medals for pool champions only (if we have time to complete the pools). One MVP award for each team. Coach chooses the award for own team. PLEASE NOTE: If you plan to travel and watch your JV wrestler, in case you missed it in the paragraph above, only JV wrestlers under 145 lbs will be competing on Friday.
