WOW! Here we are. All of the early morning open-mats, late afternoon practices, extra conditioning, long bus rides, sacrifice, determination and heart have led us to this moment. It's STATE! We have 7 young men who will give everything they have to put themselves in the position to step up onto that podium that says "I am one of the best of the best!" And solidly behind each of these Warriors is a wall of parents, family, coaches, practice partners and teammates that helped get them here and will be there supporting, regardless of the outcome. WE ARE WARRIORS! Here's all the information you need: Utah High School Activities Association State Wrestling Championships UCCU Center, Utah Valley University, Orem, Utah 4A and 5A Boys February 11-12, 2025 A link to a sample packing list will be provided at the bottom of this. Of special note from the UCCU Center at UVU (and this will be enforced): There will be one (1) team ice chest allowed at UVU. Individual wrestlers will not be allowed to bring in personal coolers. *Let’s coordinate as a coaching staff and parents to find the best solution here. I contacted our top representative at UHSAA to petition this last year, and they are holding firm again this year. This was his exact reply: “This is a rule put in place by the venue. Teams will be able to bring 1 cooler that will remain in the lower level breezeway.” As a team we will work through this and find a way to take care of our wrestlers. We will have ongoing discussions about this over the next few days. Monday, February 10, 2025 GO TO YOUR MORNING CLASSES! TRAVEL DAYS ARE CONSIDERED COMPETITION DAYS WITH REQUIRED ATTENDANCE AT CLASS. IF A WRESTLER MISSES FOR ANY REASON, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION WILL BE FORCED TO FIND THEM INELIGIBLE AND THAT WRESTLER'S SEASON IS OVER*!!! *This has happened before to a senior that was ranked to place in state. PLEASE do not test this policy! 2:45 PM - School ends for the day. Do NOT leave class before 2:45 PM 3:15 PM - Meet in the wrestling room to check in (DO NOT BE LATE) 3:30 PM - Bus Departs Snow Canyon High School. Plan for a brief stop on the way north for a short bathroom break. 7:15 PM - Light workout in the Payson (or other) High School Wrestling Room 8:00 PM - Load bus to travel to hotel in Provo. 8:20 PM - Hotel check-in. Wrestlers and coaches pick up keys/room cards for assigned rooms.There will be several places to eat within walking distance of our hotel. If any wrestlers leave the hotel to get food at nearby locations, they must do so as teammates in groups of at least 2. Wrestlers are NOT allowed to get in a vehicle to travel at this time (not even with their parents). Be quick about it, avoid dangerous situations, no mischief, no funny business, no “meeting up” with anyone. Hustle back to the hotel once done. 9:30 PM - Everyone back in hotel 10:00 PM - Quiet time. Another option is that we may have these boys move around and get some fresh air. Six individual places will be scored and six medals awarded in the 4A, 5A, and 6A tournaments. No Outside Food Allowed in the Building THERE WILL BE NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED INTO THE UCCU CENTER. ONLY THOSE ITEMS REQUIRED BY EACH WRESTLER AND BROUGHT IN WITH THEM THROUGH THE WRESTLERS’ ENTRANCE WILL BE ALLOWED. PLEASE ADVISE YOUR WRESTLERS AND FANS! The Following are Strictly Prohibited from the State Wrestling Tournaments: a. large school flags, signs or banners of any kind including the type teams run through. b. noisemakers of any kind such as whistles, cow bells, horns, pop guns etc. c. balloons. d. megaphones, either in the stands or used by cheerleaders. e. confetti or shredded paper in the stands or on the floor. f. fans wearing no shirts (fans must wear shirts at all times) g. articles of any type thrown onto the floor. h. photographers on the wrestling floor level except those representing the UHSAA or credentialed media. No flash units are allowed on the floor level during wrestling. If flash units are used at all they should be used from the stands. The Rumble is one of the toughest and biggest tournaments in the Western United States, and there's something for everyone, boys and girls varsity along with the JV and Extras. Here are the details: For the Boys team, Kaden Guymon will be the only competitor this year while the rest of the team competes at the Iron Town Duals at Cedar High. Kaden will head up Thursday evening right after the Dixie Dual. The Girls team plans to leave early Friday morning. Those traveling with the Girls team should confirm with Coach Trent Wilson and reach out to him with any specific questions. Cedar High School 703 W 600 S Cedar City, UT 84720 This weekend will bring LOTS of wrestling for both the Boys Varsity and JV at the perennial favorite Iron Town Duals. In the past it has been a badge of honor to earn an "Undefeated" t-shirt from two days of solid wrestling. T-shirt or otherwise, getting out of this tournament unscathed is truly an accomplishment. The brightest stars from across the state will toe the line at the UCCU Center on the Campus of UVU. The Warriors are sending not 1, but 3 wrestlers. Our Boys team is sending Kaden Guymon, and our Girls team will be represented by Nia Hagler and Jeanine Field. All of the action takes place on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Date: Wednesday, January 8, 2025 Schedule of events: 3:45pm: High School Wrestlers check in (see below for location) 4:15pm: weigh ins (northwest locker room, we will have signs) 4:15pm: Wrestler’s Dinner (we will start serving as soon as the first person is done weighing in) 5:30pm: Lineup for All Star introductions 5:45pm: Introductions of High School wrestlers & matches Free admission is given to the athlete and 1 coach ONLY, all others can purchase admission tickets for $10. Location: UCCU Center on UVU Campus Admission is $10 per person. As in the past, those 4 and under will be allowed in free. We appreciate your support as this is a major fundraiser for the UVU Wrestling team with 100% of the proceeds going to them. It is also a unique opportunity for family and friends to come watch some top notch high school wrestling. 100% of the entrance fee goes towards the costs of the wrestler which is the plaque, gear and meal. Registration will begin at 3:45pm in the UCCU Center on the UVU Campus. There will be a registration table set up in the lobby by ticket windows (West side of the Arena). At the registration you will receive your athlete's meal pass and head coach's free admission pass. Weigh-ins will take place at 4:15pm. Wrestlers will get the standard after Christmas two pound growth allowance, plus an additional pound due to wrestlers that have competition the day before (Boys and Girls) – for example if you wrestle 106 you need to make 109 lbs. Then there will be a dinner for the wrestler which will take place from 4:15pm to 5:00pm and will be held in the area behind the bleachers on the East side of the Event Center. The introductions of the high school All-Star athletes will start at 5:45pm with wrestling beginning immediately after completion of introductions. A recap/view of the items for the All-Stars Dual. 1. The event will stream live on www.trackwrestling.com. You must have a FloWrestling membership to watch the event via the stream. We encourage everyone to come in person to support this event as it is a fundraiser for UVU. Reminder that admissions are $10 per person with anyone 4 and under being free. 2. Teams from multiple neighboring states, along with Utah power-house programs make the trek to St. George to compete. It's a traditional double-elimination format and it's a BATTLE to make it to the medal podium. We anticipate you'll see some Green and Gold there when the dust settles.

Pay close attention as there are a number of unique situations for this tournament: Tournament Format: Varsity – Double elimination bracket tournament placing top six JV Day 1 – Bracket tournament, placing the top four wrestlers. JV Day 2 – Bracket tournament continued; Round Robin bracket for JV wrestlers eliminated on Day 1. Friday December 20, 2024 7:30 AM - (DO NOT BE LATE) Home weigh-in (Scratch +2 pounds - 108, 115, etc.) in the Snow Canyon Wrestling Room (please arrive 5-10 minutes early). Only wrestlers that are competing Friday and Saturday need to show up early for weigh-ins. 12:15 PM - Arrive at the Snow Canyon wrestling room to check-in. 10th-12th grade wrestlers get out of school at 12:10 PM Friday, so just head straight to the wrestling room after school. 9th grade wrestlers will be excused from school at 12:05 PM and will need to hustle up to the high school wrestling room. 12:30 PM - Bus Leaves for Dixie High School. 1:30 PM - Coaches Meeting 2:00 PM - Wrestling Begins (or as close to 2PM as possible for teams that are late because of transportation issues). They have a target end time on Friday of 10:00 PM, but it could go even later depending on various factors. Saturday December 21, 2024 7:15 AM - Check in at Snow Canyon Wrestling Room (DO NOT BE LATE) 7:30 AM - Bus departs for Dixie High School 8:00 AM - Weigh-in (scratch +2 108, 115, etc) 9:30 AM - Wrestling begins Finals may begin anytime between 4:00 - 6:00 PM and usually take about 2 hours. The awards ceremony will immediately follow the finals. Plan to be done and back at Snow Canyon anytime between 6:30 - 8:00 PM They will be streaming the varsity tournament in the main gym on their youtube channel for any parents or fans not able to attend at https://www.youtube.com/@dixiehightv1267 They will be offering full concessions for all wrestlers, fans and attendees. The JV tournament will be a double elimination bracket tournament. They will have a second round robin tournament on Saturday for all JV wrestlers that were eliminated on Friday. This should allow for a completion of the JV tournament and get those JV wrestlers matches that were eliminated on Friday. This should hopefully get those JV wrestlers 6 to 7 matches for the weekend. While our Boys Varsity team is competing at the Juab Winter Classic, our Boys JV and extras are heading to the Desert Hills Days of Thunder JV Tournament. We will be competing in a round robin tournament at the middle school with all JV teams. JV and extras wrestlers should expect to get 5-7 matches per wrestler over 2 days with this Round Robin format. The Desert Hills Middle School is located next to the high school. Most parents and spectators park in the high school parking lot and make the very short walk to the middle school using the path between the tennis courts and the football field. * Here are the details: Friday December 13, 2024 12:15 PM - JV and extras wrestlers arrive at the Snow Canyon wrestling room to check-in. 10th-12th grade wrestlers get out of school at 12:10 PM Friday, so just head straight to the wrestling room after school. 9th grade wrestlers will be excused from school at 12:05 PM and will need to hustle up to the high school wrestling room. 12:30 PM - Bus leaves for Desert Hills (DO NOT BE LATE) 1:00 PM - Weigh-ins in the Desert Hills HIGH School wrestling room (there will be a 2 pound allowance for both Friday and Saturday. 108, 115, etc.) 2:00 PM - Coaches meeting 3:00 PM - Varsity wrestling begins at the high school (this will not involve our boys, but we are putting this here as a reference). 4:00 PM - JV wrestling begins at the Middle School. May go as late as 9 or even 10 PM. Saturday December 14, 2024 6:45 AM - JV and extras wrestlers arrive at the Snow Canyon wrestling room to check-in. 7:00 AM - Bus Departs from Snow Canyon High School (DO NOT BE LATE) 7:30 AM - Weigh-ins in the Desert Hills HIGH School wrestling room (there will be a 2 pound allowance for both Friday and Saturday. 108, 115, etc.) 9:30 AM - Begin wrestling and will complete about 5:30 PM. 5:30 PM - Bus departs for Snow Canyon High School 6:00 PM - Estimated return to Snow Canyon High School *Wrestlers and parents, please remember that our wrestlers ride the bus as a team to AND from events. Our coaches are responsible for each wrestler's safety. Wrestlers are not to leave the competition site.
