Team Practice Schedule
Wrestlers are to be inside the wrestling room dressed out and ready to go by 3:30 p.m. Wrestlers will take turns being assigned to show up at 3 p.m. to help prepare, tape, and clean mats. If you are not present by 3:30 p.m. you are late. Do not be late.
Wrestlers are to use the break between the end of school and the beginning of practice to take care of any miscellaneous responsibilities concerning missing schoolwork, grades, family matters, etc.
If school and family life is in order, wrestlers may show up early to help prepare the room for practice and work on technique, drill, light individual stretching, jump rope, pummel, or productively focus on how they can improve as a wrestler. This pre-practice set-up will be supervised by at least one of our approved coaches.
We will finish practice no later than 6 p.m. As the season progresses with our wrestlers mastering the necessary technique and achieving a high level of conditioning, practice sessions will finish earlier. We will practice as a team until practice is over and the mats are put away.
Do not miss practice to make up homework or other class assignments. Champions find a way to get that done without missing practice or competition. Do not make excuses to miss practice or say that you did not know we had practice that day. All scheduled practices for the remainder of the year will be posted on the team calendar (top of this page) and in the wrestling room.
If you are unable to attend a team practice for any reason (i.e. Family emergency), you must notify one of the coaches in advance (in person, phone call, text, email, pass message on to Coach Lang through SCHS front office, etc) or you will not compete in the next dual or tournament.
*At the discretion of the coaches and captains, make up conditioning and/or drilling may be assigned to wrestlers that miss practice for family life events before they may wrestle off or compete.
Off-Season (beginning after the State Tournament Feb 17-18, 2023)
-End of Year Team Banquet will be at 6PM on Thursday February 23, 2023 in our wrestling room (yes, we will deep clean and air it out). We will celebrate all of the positives and accomplishments from the season with awards and recognitions for everyone and special recognitions for the seniors. The team will provide dinner that will be free for wrestlers and parents/guardians. Because of the cost and food supply, we ask that this be wrestlers and parents/guardians without bringing any other siblings or family members.
