The Rockwell Rumble

Whew! This is a BIG week of wrestling with a Home Region 9 dual vs. Cedar High, and the Rockwell Rumble this weekend. The Rumble is one of the toughest and biggest tournaments in the Western United States, and there's something for everyone, boys and girls varsity along with the JV and Extras. Here are the details:

Thursday, January 11, 2024
3:15 PM - All wrestlers meet in Wrestling Room for check-in (DO NOT BE LATE)
3:30 PM - Bus departs SCHS (DO NOT BE LATE)

*For this trip we are staying overnight for 2 nights.

All wrestlers (Boys Varsity, Boys JV, Girls Varsity) will be in the same building for the entire tournament.

*The facility has a lot of space, but not a lot of bleachers.  There is a central turf area and the wrestlers are encouraged to bring “camp” chairs and blankets and set up on the tarps over the turf. ​

Rounds 1, 2, 3 will start at the times listed. The tournament will take a break after Round 3 to allow tournament workers, officials and event staff appropriate rest time IF the tournament is running AHEAD of schedule. Round 4 will start at 6:00 PM and Round 5 will start immediately following Round 4.


Weigh-ins: 9:00 AM- By Weight Class (+4 lbs. total: 110, 117, etc.)

Round 1- 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Weight Classes 98, 106, 113, 120, 126  (10 Mats)

Round 2- 1:00 PM- 3:30 PM Weight Classes 132, 138, 144, 150, 157 (10 Mats)

Round 3- 3:30 PM- 5:30 PM Weight Classes 165, 175, 190, 215, 285 (10 Mats)
Rounds 1, 2, and 3 will wrestle championship rounds up to Round of 16 and Consolation Round 3.

Round 4- 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM All Weight Classes Championship Round of 16 and Consolation Round 4 (10 Mats)

Second Chance Tournament is for Boys Varsity wrestlers that lose two matches on Friday and are no longer in the main event. Wrestlers MUST check-in with the head table to be entered into the Second Chance Tournament. Second Chance brackets will be in a Round Robin format. We will wrestle as many matches as possible in the time frame listed for the weight classes. Time periods will be 90 seconds for all three periods.
