Snow Canyon’s 120 pound Kody Hafen finished a solid week going UNDEFEATED with 10 wins!

7 of those wins came by Tech Fall, and when his team needed 6 points he put the other 3 away by Fall!
Kody is a Senior and 2nd year team captain. He is the returning 3A Southern Division Champion and placed 5th in State last year at 120 pounds.

Kody’s record for the season is an impressive 16-1 with his only loss coming from a very close and action packed 1-0 match with Utah’s 4A 2-time State Champion Brandon Meikel from Kearns High School.

Meikel is the #1 ranked 4A wrestler in his weight class and is ranked #23 on the 2015 Beehive Top 25. Yet Meikel had his hands full as he squeaked out the win against Kody Hafen.

With a vise-like grip, Kody is a Nearfall specialist relying on a variety of relentless tilts that frustrate and wear down his opponents.

Kody has not given up a single takedown this season and has spent less time in the bottom position than a snow ball in a hot oven with his explosive escapes and reversals.

Kody has outscored his opponents by 191-7 match points so far this season with 6 of those opponent points being intentional releases so he could work on takedowns.

Come watch the Snow Canyon Warrior Wrestlers take on the Pine View Panthers this Thursday at Pine View High School. This will be our first regional dual of the season. The JV action will begin at 5:30 PM and the Varsity will take the mat at 7:00 PM. The bus leaves Snow Canyon High School at 3:30 PM and all wrestlers are expected to ride the bus as a team.
